•         It is not always easy to spot the signs of abuse.

•         Often the person being abused feels embarrassed or frightened of informing.

•         Signs that may indicate abuse include:abuse

•         Appearing frightened, stressed or subdued

•         Unexplained behaviour or changes in behaviour

•         Physical signs

•         Poor sleep patterns

•         Depression

•         Relatives or carers preventing contact with an individual

•         Certain indicators may suggest a specific type of abuse
